Karl May has over 20 years of experience as a high technology entrepreneur and executive. He was previously with OpVista and prior to that CHIPS and Systems, developer of programmable secure media processors for high definition televisions and set-top boxes. Previously, he served as Chairman of AP Engines, The industree (BarcoNet), and President and CEO of Convergent Networks. He served as President of Nortel’s Broadband Access Networks Division, and previously was Bay Network’s VP/GM of its Broadband Technology Division, where his team developed the market leading cable modem system. He also served in executive and engineering management positions at SGI and HP.
Armineh Baghoomian has over 15 years of experience as a business and finance executive with high technology and service organizations including JPMorgan Partners, Hambrecht & Quist, CHIPS and Systems, Silverback Systems, Mondowave, Sprout, and ThingLabs. She has expertise in all aspects of financial management including mergers and acquisitions, financial planning, cash flow management, and achieving capital growth through equity and debt financings.
Vice President, Engineering
Alan McKee has over 20 years of experience in engineering leadership. Prior to Vello Systems, Alan was VP of Engineering at Intelliden where he led its successful acquisition by IBM and continued to lead the product development for the network configuration products within IBM Tivoli. Prior to joining Intelliden, he was Director of Software Development for Nortel in Belfast, leading and managing the development of next-generation service management software for Nortel’s Optical Portfolio Previously, he led the Network Surveillance software development within British Telecommunication’s Belfast, Northern Ireland engineering centre.
Vice President, Marketing
Jeff Paine has over 20 years of experience as a high-tech marketing executive. He began work in the networking industry in 1989 when he joined pre-IPO Cisco Systems as its initial marketing hire in preparation of the public offering. After six years at Cisco Jeff went on to hold a number of marketing, product management and business development executive roles at both start-ups and large companies in the networking and telecommunications industries. Most recently he was Vice President of Product Marketing for New Zealand-based Endace (recently acquired by Emulex). He has also served as Vice President, Global Marketing, for Vividas and Vice President of Strategic Marketing for UTStarcom.
Victoria Coniglio McKinney
Vice President, Business Development
Victoria Coniglio McKinney has more than 18 years of US and International experience in technology and wireless telecom industries, previously as VP of Sales at OpenCloud, and as Director of Americas at Swiss-based mobile applications software company Esmertec AG. In these roles, she was responsible for building company credibility and establishing customer and reseller relationships. Prior to this, Coniglio McKinney was Director, Carrier Relations for Danger, Inc. developing business opportunities with accounts including AT&T Wireless and Cable & Wireless; Danger was acquired by Microsoft for $500M in 2008. She was also an early employee of Unwired Planet, pioneering wireless internet which later became OpenWave. Prior to Openwave she held various management and sales positions at SGI and Lucent.
Par Botes has over 20 years of IT experience specializing in online transactional systems, very large data bases, networking, storage technologies and data protection. Prior to joining Vello, Par was CTO for the Asia Pacific & Japan region for EMC Corporation where he was responsible for technical strategy. Prior to EMC, he was the Director Technology Strategy, Data Center Management Group at Symantec and VERITAS, where he also held a number of management roles in the areas of data protection and storage management. Prior to Symantec, Par spent eight years with Sun Microsystems, working with Sun’s Global 500 customers and partners, establishing practices for commercial benchmarking and system models for next generation system architectures. Prior to joining SUN Microsystems, Par established himself in the area of SMP kernels, compilers and Enterprise Storage Systems with Data General.
